Short, basic introduction to fitness bootcamps
This book has an ambition title, to teach readers how to start and grow a 6 figure fitness boot camp business.
I don’t think it succeeds.
It’s written by the founder of the Fit Body Boot Camp franchise and the underlying objective is to tempt people into finding out more about the franchise option. Since the IFA website reports that the franchisee should be able to support an investment of between $25,000 and $50,000, it’s naive to think he’s going to spill the beans in one £2 book.
To be fair, it’s not a blatant franchise brochure as it has some interesting content but it’s not really very in-depth.
The chapters are:
1 – What’s so special about a fitness boot camp?
2 – How to find a location
3 – Low cost/no cost super profitable marketing techniques (including how to price a boot camp). The longest chapter although it’s still not substantial as the entire book is only 18 pages. There is nothing that I hadn’t heard before.
4 – Now what? This invites readers to go to his website PTPower.com and be given more than $1400 of client getting services. The problem is I can’t see them and I’ve looked at the website on both my Kindle and through my PC to make sure that there isn’t some strange mobile computing adaptation problem.
What you do find at his website is an extensive blog with much more detail than this book.
I feel that the main purpose of the book is to get you into his email system and ultimately to sell franchises. I’m left with the problem of why pay for it.
Too many marketers are using Amazon Kindle books as promotional devices. In my view they can either charge for substantial content or give it away free as a lead magnet. I don’t like paying for something that, before Kindle, would have been a free downloadable pdf.
