A book of sales tips that include how to resist price pressure
I’m a believer in the old maxim “turnover is vanity but profit is sanity” so I welcome books that focus on profit or margin growth.
However this proved to be a disappointment because it wasn’t the book I was expecting from its title.
This is actually a book for sales people and it gives ideas on how to improve performance including how to resist price pressure that comes from buyers natural preference to buy items for the lowest possible price.
Read in that light, it provides useful tips gleaned from interviews with large numbers of buyers and it should help any sales person who readily rushes to discount prices when there is a hint of buyer reluctance. However I didn’t think it was up to the standards of the excellent book “How to Sell at Margins Higher Than Your Competitors: Winning Every Sale at Full Price” by Lawrence L. Steinmetz and William T. Brooks.
