Personal Training Sales by Pat Rigsby

The full title of this book by Pat Rigsby is

Personal Training Sales: The Ultimate System for Selling Fitness

In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it 3 Stars.

Here is my review.

Shame the contents is bitty

Many business owners don’t like selling because they don’t see it as the route to helping people. Instead selling is seen as sleazy and about manipulating people to buy what they don’t want.

If that’s how you feel about promoting your fitness business, then this book will help you to see selling in a more positive light.

The contents is a fairly standard sales system (i.e it will work in many different markets and situations) but the book applies it to the personal training market.

My gripe is that the book admits that it’s made up of a series of articles. Each stands on its own. Unfortunately 2 + 2 = 3 as later articles repeat some of the earlier content. This means that as you read forward, you find your mind jumping back and it’s disconcerting.

Worth reading if you’re inexperienced in sales and you need to convert fitness prospects into clients but you’ll probably wish the author had taken the trouble to edit the contents to turn some articles into a meaningful book.
