Profit Improvement In A Week by Tim Levey

In my review of

Profit Improvement In A Week

by Tim Levey posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it Three Stars.

Here is my review.

This presents an involvement method of improving profit, fine if you’ve got plenty of time

This book doesn’t distinguish between those who need to increase profit (and cash flow) quickly and those who would like to increase profit quickly.

The first category face imminent insolvency but the second group have the time to take a leisurely pace if they hit any sudden roadblocks.

Why is that important? The book advocates a collective approach to improving profit with the full involvement of the employees.

There’s nothing wrong with that approach if you’ve got the time.

It is however the exact opposite of what’s required in an urgent turnaround situation. Then the business leader must act quickly, decisively and with full commitment and belief that he or she is right. Hard decisions are required.

This book nicely presents a step by step process but I’m not at all sure that the people who are attracted by the title of “Profit Improvement In A Week” will find the method suitable for their situation.
