10 Minute Money Makers: How to Easily Double Your Profits in Just 10 Minutes a Day
In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book Three Stars. This means Worthwhile.
Here is my review.
By the author of a book about the Law of Attraction and she talks about her coaching business
First I should point of the author has written a book about the Law of Attraction.
That concept of “think about what you want and you’ll get it” might put you off but I think there’s something in it. Or at least in getting clear about your direction, identifying actions that will help and then doing them very effectively. I also accept that your mindset can be a major constraint if you keep having negative thoughts. [continue reading…]

Here is my book review.
Business advice for women. An innovative system but it requires different thinking
As a man, I’m not the target market for this book which is very much focused on helping women succeed in business.
I’ve read and reviewed a similar book in the past “The Chic Entrepreneur” which I thought was really effective because it gave business lessons through stories.
This also has plenty to offer but it’s very much based around a business model, the 5 Principles of Predictable Profit. [continue reading…]

We have more things to do than time to do them in and this is why these summaries of well known books can be so useful. They capture the big ideas without the padding.
Summary: The Ultimate Sales Machine: Review and Analysis of Holmes’ Book
I think the underlying book by Chet Holmes, The Ultimate Sales Machine is excellent so will the summary match up or will it exclude too many important ideas? In my review on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the summary a rating of Four Stars.
Here is my book summary review.
Nice summary of excellent business book that looks at the foundations of business growth
The full version of The Ultimate Sales Machine: Turbocharge Your Business with Relentless Focus on 12 Key Strategies is in my list of the top twelve favourite business books for business owners.
It is based on the focused growth system the author explained in the famous PEQ seminars he did with Jay Abraham. [continue reading…]

Summary: The E-Myth Revisited: Review and Analysis of Gerber’s Book
I have a love and hate relationship with the full book, The E-Myth Revisited.
Will the summary have the best bits without the worst? Yes, it’s excellent and I gave the summary a full FIVE stars rating in my review on Amazon.co.uk.
Here is my book summary review.
An excellent summary that gives you the important ideas of Michael Gerber without the irritating bits
I believe The E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It is one of the most important small business books ever written. I recently wrote a blog article about the 12 best business books for business owners and it was the first I mentioned. Not because it provides all the answers but it does a great job of highlighting the problems and their causes. [continue reading…]

Summary: E-Myth Mastery: Review and Analysis of Gerber’s Book
I had mixed feelings about the E-Myth Mastery book by Michael Gerber.
When I reviewed the summary on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it a rating of Four Stars, the same as for the full book.
Here is my book review.
Summary without the dreadful bits but light on the good bits
Gerber’s earlier book, “The E-Myth Revisited” was strong on important concepts for business owners but it was light on details. The full version of this book puts that right by sharing important parts of the E Myth coaching course for a fraction of the price.
Unfortunately the full book has a major problem for anyone who found the syrupy story of Sarah and her All About Pies bakery business uncomfortable reading. There is much more here along with other self indulgent nonsense. [continue reading…]

“Breeding Gazelles: Fast Growth Strategies For Your Business“.
In my review on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book a rating of Four Stars. This means I think it is good.
Here is my book review.
Well worth reading for anyone who wants to grow their company
This is an important book that looks at why so many small businesses get stuck between the £500,000 and £1 million level of sales and what has to be done to make the transition into becoming a gazelle company with a consistent high growth rate that continues year after year.
Basically it can be summed up by the phrase “what got you here, won’t get you there.” [continue reading…]

This is a review of
“Genghis Khan Guide to Business” by Brian Charles John Warnes.
Who Should Read This Book
- Every qualified accountant without extensive business experience at finance director/controller/chief financial officer level.
- Every business owner and entrepreneur.
- Every managing director or chief executive who is responsible for the profit and cash performance of a business and who doesn’t have complete confidence in his or her finance director or CFO.
How I Was Introduced To The Book
After I passed the final exams to be a chartered accountant, I was given this book to read by one of the partners in my accountancy firm who had returned to the profession after working in industry for many years. I was told that I’d learn how finance really worked in the real world, away from all the fancy theories I’d learnt to for the exams. [continue reading…]

by Tim Levey posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it Three Stars.

This presents an involvement method of improving profit, fine if you’ve got plenty of time
This book doesn’t distinguish between those who need to increase profit (and cash flow) quickly and those who would like to increase profit quickly.
The first category face imminent insolvency but the second group have the time to take a leisurely pace if they hit any sudden roadblocks. [continue reading…]

Very disappointing, mainly due to the writing style
I really wanted to like this book but I have picked it up and put it down three times in the hope that next time I will be “more in the mood”.
I should love the combination of Guerrilla Marketing and Jay Abraham / Dan Kennedy style direct response marketing with its profit focus. But I don’t. This book is tough to read and the words don’t connect in any meaningful way. [continue reading…]

The Great Formula: for Creating Maximum Profit with Minimal Effort
In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it Three Stars.
Here is my review.
A business philosophy for success in 14 words.
If you make business hard for yourself with one time sales to customers before you move on to the next then this book should be a revelation. It is much easier to sell to existing customers again and again than to keep finding new customers.
The author has a gift for taking complex ideas which may seem too formidable to do, stripping them down to the essentials and helping you to take action. [continue reading…]
