The 4 e-P’s of email marketing

  • Permission
  • Privacy
  • Profiling
  • Personalization

The 4 e-P’s were created by Stefan Eyram who is the Canadian Business Development Manager for ExactTarget  www.exacttarget.com.

Permission is the request for information, privacy is what marketers do with the information when they get it (i.e. don’t sell it), profiling helps sub-divide the list and gather more information so that the content of every email sent can be relevant and personalization gives personal treatment.

The NEW Four P’s of social media marketing

  • People
  • Presence
  • Pervasiveness
  • Publishing

Social media is all about the people who are tweeting, friending etc.

Presence is how the source of information people get is constantly changing as they switch social media channels.

Pervasiveness is about being there, everywhere.

Publishing is about marketing with valuable content and personality.
