Quickly skates over b2b marketing and copywriting issues
There aren’t many books about b2b copywriting because most copywriting books have a strong bias towards b2c where people can be persuaded to want a product or service based on underlying desires and emotions.
There is an opportunity to write a great b2b copywriting book.
This isn’t it. The book flies over important topics at a speed which will leave inexperienced readers dizzy. Part of the problem is it lacks examples so readers can understand the points made.
It is a quick read although very dry and technical. I am an active reader who highlights sections I want to read again and there is little highlighted here.
While I was reading the book, I was wondering who the target reader is meant to be. Is it a small business owner, a marketing director or manager, a marketing professional or an inexperienced copywriter who wants to learn more? I’m not sure. Worse, I don’t feel I can recommend it to any of them.
I don’t like going below 3 stars but I’m disappointed and I’m giving it two stars. I borrowed it under my Kindle Unlimited subscription but if I’d bought it, I’d be asking for my money back.
