The Ultimate Book of Effective and Proven Sales Pitches

by Stephen Ashley posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave this book Two Stars. This means Disappointing.

Here is my review.

A very long list of words and phrases that customers might think sound good

There are a few books like this that are lists of selling words and phrases.

In principle, they are very useful for people who have to write sales copy and who are struggling to find the right words. Sadly not this one.

It is just a very long list that starts with the letter a and goes all the way through the alphabet. The better books group them together in ways which make it much easier to review the options and pick the one word or phrase that suits best.

If you want to get value from it, you’ll have work to do. Identify a smaller subset consistent with your personality and writing style and then try to group them in synonyms and related phrases.

An alternative approach is to start reading great copy and identity the words and phrases you like used in headings, openings, bullet points, guarantees and calls to action.

A better, rival book is Words that Sell, Revised and Expanded Edition: The Thesaurus to Help You Promote Your Products, Services, and Ideas.
