The full title of this book by Lisa J. Scheinkopf is

Thinking for a Change: Putting the TOC Thinking Processes to Use

In my review posted on Amazon.co,uk, I gave the book Five Stars. This means it is Excellent and Very Highly Recommended.

Here is my book review.

A Big Improvement On It’s Not Luck

I found “It’s Not Luck” by Eli Goldratt a frustrating read.

The Theory of Constraints Thinking Processes were clearly powerful tools for diagnosing problems and implementing solutions and taking TOC out of the factory floor and into the boardrooms. But I found the tools abstract and confusing.

This book solves this problem and gives the reader a solid understanding of the main tools and the confidence to have a go at using them.

That’s the important thing, using the techniques because it’s the only way to develop a deeper understanding of the ideas. These thinking tools use some strange words and it is quite hard to get them clear in your mind without going through some examples and working through the logic yourself.

I read this book before I read Bill Dettmer’s brilliant book on The Logical Thinking Process or Eli Goldratt’s book with his daughter explaining Inherent Simplicity called The Choice.

These thinking tools are powerful when you understand them and you may find that explanations from Lisa Scheinkopf click with you better than Bill Dettmer. Unfortunately, learning them can be a frustrating process if you can’t submerge yourself into them until they make sense.

You can buy it from Amazon.co,uk and Amazon.com
