Viable Vision by Gerald Kendall

The full title of this book by Gerald Kendall is

Viable Vision: Transforming Total Sales into Net Profits

In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book 4 Stars. This means it is Good and Well Worth Reading.

Here is my review.

A revolution in your business

This is a manifesto for a revolution in your business using the full combination of thinking from Eliyahu Goldratt and his theory of Constraints.

Inevitably this presents a high level view of the ideas focusing in the what to do much more than how to do it.

I think it’s suitable both as

1) an introduction to TOC for someone new to it, although The Goal by Goldratt is still my recommended starting point or

2) as a book which brings everything back together after you’ve delved into the complexities that come from new ideas for production scheduling, project management, distribution and retail policies and most important of all, the logical thinking processes which underpin the entire Theory of Constraints.

I think the book is easy to read but then I’m in the category 2 readers who are already familiar with the terminology and ideas.

If you’re coming to it new, you may need to read it several times before you understand how everything fits together.

TOC and the idea of focusing on whatever is holding you back from meeting your goal makes a great deal of sense to me.

The book demonstrates just what you’re playing for when you start your journey into TOC.

You can buy the book at Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.
