Packed with tips so why don’t I like it more?
The book is a list of business tips with fairly brief explanations.
It is packed with practical, positive advice and I’ve only got a few quibbles about what’s written. It’s easy enough to read.
That said, I have a problem. I don’t like it and I can’t really explain why.
It draws heavily on Jay Abraham style marketing. That shouldn’t be a problem because I’m a big fan although it means I’ve heard it all before.
It seems to lack a unifying structure. That’s not uncommon with tips books.
It’s quite promotional and I wonder if there’s an undeclared affiliate link. Hints to his mastermind are scattered through the text and there are quite a few adverts for the author at the back of the book.
A fair rating is probably 4 stars but I feel this is one of many similar books and some have been done better. If I was you, I’d start with “Getting Everything You Can…” by Jay Abraham. It’s old but it’s an original source of many of these ideas. If you want something with the Internet, I recommend Digital Marketing for Dummies by Ryan Deiss.
