Go Forth & Multiply: 7 Day Profit Boosting Plan

by Robert Mark Hurn posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it Three Stars.

Here is my review.

The contents is much better than the feel of the book

The worst part of this book is its feel. It’s been self published and the author has used a company that seems to have a different binding technique. It’s hard to describe but it’s one of those books that you expect the pages to fall out if you read it much or if the spine gets broken.

The book itself has plenty of pages for notes and personal pledges to try to turn it into a workbook. Good intentions but it also pads out the contents over more pages. I doubt many people will use these pages as intended because of the binding issue.

The author is tax advisor with his own accountancy firm, a business owner and an avid learner. The contents is good.

It starts with the issues of being positive and having the right attitude and then moves on to talk about pricing and using price as a way to weed the good customers from the niggling cheapskates who want to pay a bargain price for a great product and service and who are never satisfied.

The book goes on to recommend direct response marketing where you can measure the results and regular follow-up. The aim is to create customer ambassadors.

I could go on but I’m sure you get the idea that the book is wide – ranging.

Contents wise I rate this book around the 3.5 to 4 star level. It has plenty of good tips even if there is nothing particularly novel. It would be better if it went into more detail since it has short chapters on subjects that others have written big books.

I’m knocking off one star because I still don’t like the feel of the book in my hands. I bought it a year ago and I had to force myself to go through it.
