A classic copywriting guide

I’m not sure what else I can say to persuade you to buy this book when there is already a five star review from British copywriting legend, Drayton Bird, on here.

It seems to me that there are three types of copywriting books available. [continue reading…]

The Profits Principles by Steven Briginshaw

The full title of this book by Steven Bringinshaw is

The Profits Principles: The practical guide to building an extraordinary business around doing what you love“.

In my review posted at Amazon.co.uk, I rated it as a FOUR stars book which means I think it is very good.

Here is what I wrote.

A very good book packed with general business advice

This book is loosely written around the acronym PROFITS. This stands for Plan, Realise, Optimise, Focus, Improve, Tax and Systemise and, as you can see, this is forced and you have to learn how to interpret the individual words.

While I was reading it, I was hearing echoes of the classic small business guide, The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber. This has the added benefit of avoiding that book’s syrupy writing style while providing more practical “how to do it” guidance. [continue reading…]

A fine first book for someone interested in “self help”

It’s a bold claim to make. [continue reading…]

The full title of this book by Tom Shapiro is

“Rethink Your Marketing: 7 Strategies to Unleash Revenue Growth”.

In my review at Amazon.co.uk, I gave it a FIVE star rating, meaning that I rate it as excellent.

An excellent and thoughtful book to get your business back on track

The book encourages you to rethink seven different areas:

1-your audience
2-how they think
3-your goals
4-your marketing mix
5-your metrics
6-your revenue model
7-your future

The aim is to get your business growing again. Too often, companies get stuck and the owner-managers don’t know what to do other than more of the same, copying competitors or jumping on the latest fad. [continue reading…]

Well worth reading and currently the cheapest but one of many versions

After reading and reviewing another of these “how to find 10K” books through my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I searched around and this seemed to be the cheapest available although that may change.

So I bought it for 99p to add to my digital library. [continue reading…]

How I Find $10k in Any Business in 45 Minutes by Stephen Fox

When I reviewed this book on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book Four Stars. This means it is Good and Well Worth Reading.

Here is my book review.

One of many – if interested look for the cheapest

This book is a good idea. Who doesn’t want to know where they can find extra revenue and profit. The promise in this book is to find $10k of extra revenue which isn’t very demanding and could have been more ambitious.

It’s such a good idea that, if you search Amazon for the title, you’ll see remarkably similar books, often with very similar covers by different authors. [continue reading…]

Why People Buy by Greg Nanigian

It is a detailed look at the Sandler Selling System’s pain step.

In my review at Amazon.co.uk, I gave it a FOUR star rating, meaning I consider it to be good to very good.

Here is what I posted.

More details of the Sandler Pain Step

I find the Sandler Selling System appealing in many ways although I’ve seen it used to bail out of potential relationships too early and recognise that it can be used to manipulate buyers or to give the appearance they are being manipulated.

This book provides a detailed look at the pain step, used to uncover emotionally powerful reasons for the buyer to buy. It also explains where pain lies in the “Sandler Submarine” so that you have a brief understanding of the entire system. [continue reading…]
