Here is my review.
I want to hurl this book across the room it’s so bad
So many sales and marketing books available through Amazon are written by Americans for Americans but the British are much more wary of hype and big promises, even if there is alleged proof.
I was looking forward to reading this book as I was expecting to learn ways to persuade in a way that wouldn’t cause genuine potential buyers to pull back in alarm as their BS detectors went off. I was encouraged by the number of five star reviews.
This isn’t the book I thought it was based on how much of it I’ve been able to stomach reading.
I had my doubts when I read the About The Author section. It says…
“David’s preferred style is to write in a persuasive and descriptive exposition. As well as factual evidence and observations, anecdotal stories are used to explain the understanding of a point as he likes the reader to find their own way to a valid conclusion.”
The Introduction killed off my interest and left me wanting to hurl the book across the room. I couldn’t of course, as I had the kindle version and I wasn’t prepared to risk damaging an expensive electronic device because I was irritated by a book.
The next best thing is to write a review.
I don’t like slamming books as I admire the hard work that goes into writing anything but this is an exception.
If you’ve got a sensitive disposition to writing, I urge you to try the free sample version first and make up your own mind. I wish I’d done that.
Perhaps there are valuable nuggets in this book that justify the five star reviews but I know that I’ll never find them so I’ve wasted my money.I don’t know if the other one star reviewer is right about the support from friends of the author but I know it has happened on other books.
