The full title of this book by Curly Martin is
The Business Coaching Handbook: Everything you need to be your own business coach
In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it 3 Stars.
Here is my review.
Well written but it’s too broad and skates over the big issues
This book has a nice combination of short stories that make their points effectively and exercises that will make the reader think hard.
Included in the book are chapters on:
– An assessment of personality, Attitudes, Commitment and Excellence
– Goal setting
– Profiling customers
– Moving from leads to sales
– Promoting the business
– Press releases
– Advertising
– Website marketing
– Tactical socialising (or networking to most of us)
– Staff issues
– Resolving challenges
– Managing money
– Eliminating waste
– Intellectual property issues
– Outsourcing
– Succession planning.
Unfortunately the scope of the book is wide and that means it skates over the surface of many big issues. A book of just over 200 pages was never going to live up to its subtitle “Everything You Need To Be Your Own Business Coach.”
Despite these reservations, I liked the book because it was well written.
