The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur by Mike Michalowicz

The full title of this book by Mike Michalowicz is

The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur: The tell-it-like-it-is guide to cleaning up in business, even if you are at the end of your roll.”

In my review on Amazon.co.uk., I gave the book a rating of Four Stars. This means I think it is in the range of good to very good.

Here is my book review.

A hard hitting book about having a “just do it” mental attitude for new entrepreneurs

The analogy about the shortage of toilet paper when needed will take you places you don’t want to go but it does make the point of having to make do when resources are short.

With such an opening, you probably expect the language to be adult in places and it is but I didn’t feel it was overly offensive.

The main focus of the book is not special strategies and tactics but making sure that you have the right mental attitude. In particular you must believe in taking action rather than dithering around and worrying about what might happen.

In some ways this is a business book for people who know they don’t like business books. There’s an irony there because the title is not one you’d search for or find doing conventional searches about business success and growth.

If you appreciate being talked to like an adult and you don’t need your ego to be soothed gently, it is well worth trying the kindle sample. I suspect you’ll love it or hate it.

The isn’t for me but I normally try to review from the perspective of a small business owner / entrepreneur rather than the multi-book reading business geek/advisor that I am. I recognise the value in this book which is very different in tone and approach to the vast majority of the rest.

It is available to buy from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.
