Magnetic Marketing: How To Attract A Flood Of New Customers That Pay, Stay, and Refer

In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book a Five Stars rating. This means it is Excellent and Very Highly Recommended.

Here is my book review.

Another tasty morsel from a master of direct marketing

Magnetic Marketing is the name of the author’s most famous premium priced course and it’s the one that has helped make his excellent reputation.

Kennedy didn’t invent direct response marketing – its origins go back at least as far as the late 19th century – but he’s done a great job of bringing it to the attention of business owners and entrepreneurs along with others including Jay Abraham. I’ve always felt Kennedy was stronger on the initial aspect of attracting new customers while Abraham was better at expanding the backend, that is the ongoing business with the customers. Books by both deserve a place on the bookshelf of a well read business owner. [continue reading…]

Here is my book review.

I wish I hadn’t ignored this excellent book for so long after buying

I’m ashamed to say I bought this book in November 2016 and hadn’t even opened my Kindle copy until January 2019. Why? Well I tend to go on buying binges and there’s the constant risk I start my next buying binge before I’ve worked my way through my last purchases.

The problem was I don’t like the main title – The Advertising Solution – or the subtitle if I’m getting picky because it mentions brands. After I’d bought it, I’d forgotten it was based on the work of six direct response marketing legends. Nor did my unfamiliarity with the main author – Craig Simpson – help me. It became a book to read some time, not next [continue reading…]

Very interesting with an emphasis on the teaser, headline and lead

I read a lot of business books and especially about marketing. I have to admit many of them are quite dry and only appeal to my inner geek who wants more knowledge and understanding.

Thus book is different. [continue reading…]

The first great marketing book I read

Back in the mid 1980s, this was the first great marketing book I ever read and I must have read it half a dozen times in total. I’ve also bought the two updates of the book.

This is the book that taught me the POISE acronym for marketing: [continue reading…]

Can this book rescue marketing and marketers?

I thought the author’s book Jump Start Your Business Brain was excellent when I read it and it was a no-brainer to move on to this book

Its purpose is to rescue marketing. The book starts with the assertion that between 75 per cent and 95 per cent of marketing initiatives fail. This is based on research and interviews with CEOs. [continue reading…]

An excellent and thoughtful book to get your business back on track

The book encourages you to rethink seven different areas:

4-your marketing mix
5-your metrics
6-your revenue model
7-your future

The aim is to get your business growing again. Too often, companies get stuck and the owner-managers don’t know what to do other than more of the same, copying competitors or jumping on the latest fad. [continue reading…]

A direct response marketing book so good you don’t want your competitors to read it

This book isn’t for everybody. The writing style is quite abrasive at the start and the author doesn’t pull any punches over what he thinks is right or wrong.

The book looks at direct response marketing and copywriting. While you may not want to do it yourself, I believe business owners need to know and understand the process. [continue reading…]

A true marketing classic and packed with charm

Some copywriters work for clients and charge a fixed fee. Others charge a fee and ask for a percentage of the revenue generated on top so they gain financially if the item sells well. Neither of these groups of writers lose out if the copy flops all together. [continue reading…]

Money-Making Secrets of Marketing Genius Jay Abraham and Other Marketing Wizards A No-Nonsense Guide to Great Wealth and Personal Fortune

although it is much better known as the Mr X Book.

In my review at Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book a FIVE STARS rating. This means that I consider it to be excellent.

Here is my book review.

A legendary book about marketing. It’s old but much of it is still extremely relevant.

Generally this book is better known as the Mr X book.

The origins are controversial. The story told is that one of Abraham’s best clients and most diligent students spotted an opportunity of sharing the Abraham money-making secrets with small businesses who couldn’t afford the $5,000 to $25,000 courses. He poured over his extensive course notes and eventually produced the book, started to offer it to the public and inevitably there was a big dispute with Abraham who recovered his intellectual property. Excellent summary of Jay Abraham style profit improvement techniques

I encourage all small business owners and entrepreneurs to read Jay Abraham ‘s book Getting Everything You Can Out of All You’ve Got: 21 Ways You Can Out-Think, Out-Perform, and Out-Earn the Competition. and this makes a lovely, practical follow-up. In a review of another of the author’s books, I felt he was channelling Dan Kennedy.

This will teach you the importance of back-end marketing. That’s selling more to existing customers through upsells and cross-sells as well as reaching out to new customers through different means. [continue reading…]
