Did the author write this book? It’s very similar to another.
When I started reading this book, I had a strong feeling of deja vu. What was written seemed incredibly familiar . It reminded me of another book I’d read recently when it came to talking about common copywriting mistakes.
I went back to check and, apart from changing phrases like “the majority of copywriters” to “most copywriters”, it seemed to match word for word..
This other book is Copywriting for the rest of us by Mike Shreeve. I borrowed that through my kindle unlimited subscription and gave it 3 stars but I’ve returned it. I downloaded the sample and went as far as I could comparing them and there isn’t any significant difference.
Since I don’t want to read the same book twice, I’ve given up on this one. Even if it’s different later on, I’ve lost respect for the author. I’ve seen this situation before where a book is published under a different name by a different author, sometimes with minor changes and it irritates me.
Since I rated the first book as only worthwhile, and there are so many excellent to good copywriting books, I can’t recommend you spend any time on this book.There are many thousand of business books, you can see the full list of my reviews at Business Books Reviews by Paul Simister (Please click).
