The full title of this book by Keith O’Brien is
“Frugal Business Owner’s Guide to DIY Local SEO: How You Can Generate More Leads and Get More Customers without Breaking the Bank“.
In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book a Four Stars rating. This means I consider it to be Good.
Here is my book review.
A very good introduction to the issues of local search engine optimisation
This book presents a choice if you have a local business and want it to be found easily on the Internet:
- Pay an SEO consultant between $1,000 and $2,500 to do the necessary work for you; or
- Do it yourself (or delegate to a trusted employee) provided you “have an additional 10-15 hours per month (maybe more in the beginning) to put towards this process”.

Internet marketing for information products and physical products

The full title of this book by Ryan Deiss is
“Invisible Selling Machine: 5 Steps To Crafting an Automated Evergreen Email Campaign That Literally Makes Sales While You Sleep“.
In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I rated this book at the Five Stars level. This means I consider it to be Excellent.
Here is my book review.
Very good book about how to structure your email marketing campaigns.
For some years, Ryan Deiss has been one of my three favourite Internet marketing experts because:
- He’s active in many different markets, not just the make money online market.
- He’s committed to testing ideas and seeing which work best, tweaking and then testing again.
- He doesn’t pad out his training with irrelevant details to waste your time.
Those three qualities can be seen in this book as well as his normal, more expensive, training programs. [continue reading…]

In my review of
Success Secrets of the Online Marketing Superstars by Mitch Meyerson (2005)
posted at Amazon.co.uk, I gave it 2 Stars.
Here is my review.
The 2005 version was very good at the time but now well out of date
This is the book (2005 edition) that inspired me to start a blog and I thought it was excellent when I first read it in 2007.
The author gathered together a series of articles written by people who have been at the forefront of the Internet revolution and these articles fit together beautifully to form a broad guide to Online or Internet Marketing. [continue reading…]

In my review of
10 Ways For Any Business To Easily Make More Money!
by Brian Koz & Shawn Casey posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave it Three Stars.
Here is my review.
Disappointed because it has a misleading title
This book has a misleading title since it is really about Internet marketing with tips on search engine optimisation, pay per click ads, social media, youtube, mobile apps etc.
Each articles seems to be written by a different person. I made the mistake of downloading this without looking at the Kindle sample and returned it because it wasn’t what I was after at this time.

If you are an Internet entrepreneur then you need to differentiate your business.
The very way that the search engines work means that when the potential customer types in a search phrases, Google and the others will do their best to find the most relevant pages.
That groups competitors together.
And if you don’t communicate how you are different, the customer can be moved to think that the product or service you provide is a commodity.
That’s bad news. Any buying decision in these circumstances comes down to price and availability/convenience. You need to find ways that make your Internet business look and feel different. Take a look at the 7 Big Questions to help you to brainstorm ideas for :
- How your business is already different from your competitors.
- What you can do to either add extra key factors of difference or to enhance your existing differentiating factors.
I’ve recently moved my detailed review of the Business Growth System from Rich Schefren to my Online Profits blog.
Business Growth System review
This isn’t your usual “get rich quick on the Internet” training program because it takes a very strategic look at building an Internet business and differentiation is a key element.
Rich Schefren has put together a super free presentation – From Frustration To Freedom (affiliate link) – which is well worth watching if you want to build a differentiated Internet business or even if you want to study the process of selling with webinars.

Who do some of the world’s leading marketing experts turn to when they want to learn how to improve and develop their business?
People like John Carlton, Mike Filsaime, Dan Kennedy, Yaro Starak and even Jay Abraham (who all provide testimonials to this person’s expertise)!
Rich Schefren.
And since March 2007 you can add me to the list because I signed up for the Rich Schefren/Strategic Profits Business Growth System and it is excellent. [continue reading…]
