The Predictable Profits Playbook: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Dominating Any Market – And Staying On Top

In my review posted on Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book a 5 Stars rating. This means it is Excellent.

Here is my book review.

An excellent guide to business growth

I bought and read this outstanding book back in 2015 but for some reason, I didn’t review it

I have two possible reasons why:

1 I didn’t want my competitors (other business coaches and advisors) to know just how good it is: and/ or
2 I was jealous. This is the type of book I could and should have written back in about 2008 before I became overwhelmed with health issues. The author and I agree about so many business principles. However I have my doubts that I’d have done it this well. It grieves me to admit that.

So why do I like it so much?

There is the emphasis on being genuinely different in ways that matter to customers and communicating it effectively. There’s the push to use direct response marketing techniques across multiple media types. The urge to improve your customer service so that you truly stand out as authentic, caring and valuable well beyond the price you charge.

A key part of the book is the questions it encourages you to ask and answer about your customers and how you can continue to add value to them. This makes the book very practical provided you’re prepared to do some thinking.

The book also includes quotes from leading experts to reinforce the points made by the author.

It’s packed with examples, mostly I believe from the author’s client base. These are well explained and certainly strengthen the messages.

It’s very well written. I don’t recall ever wincing at the grammar used on the book and I can be picky.

So why am I reviewing and recommending it now?

Well during the Covid lockdown, I’ve re-read it and I think it’s even better than I first thought.

I’ve accepted that I’m always going to have a very restricted client base and I’m no longer interested in building a national or international reputation by writing a book. I have nothing to lose.

Also in these extraordinary times, business owners need all the help they can get to survive and then prosper. Whenever there are dramatic changes in the economic, social and political environment, fortunes can be made and lost.

I believe reading and implementing these ideas will keep you making progress. This is very highly recommended. I only wish I had written it.

If you’re interested in the book I’d been intending to write in 2008/9, was going to be called The Customer Focused Entrepreneur and I had invented my own word, custompreneur to describe these people who had a absolute commitment to identifying unique perceived customer value and delivering it so consistently it was regarded as an absolute promise.

You can buy the book from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com
