Here is my book review.

Disappointing book, lacking structure and organisation

I’m a big fan of Jay Abraham. He received help from Internet marketing guru, Rich Schefren, and I’m a big fan of his too but I thought this book was very disappointing for the people writing it.

Of course, my expectations were high, perhaps too high because I think Getting Everything You Can Out of All You’ve Got: 21 Ways You Can Out-Think, Out-Perform, and Out-Earn the Competition is essential reading for entrepreneurs and business owners.

I also help business owners who feel they or their business owners are stuck. I recognise the problems the book is trying to solve.

Sadly I felt this book was structured badly. Problems and solutions didn’t neatly fit together on a mutually exclusive basis. It felt like someone had cut and pasted previous works in a different order to create something new. Part of the problem is that Abraham still leans heavily on his past and I was looking for new insights.

I’ve now read it a couple of times but I think it’s non-essential. I’ve even tried the Summary: The Sticking Point Solution: Review and Analysis of Abraham’s Book to see if that would bring out any important messages that I’m missing.

The book may read better for newbies to Jay Abraham’s style of thinking about marketing. While this has more up-to-date information about the Internet, I’d still recommend the much earlier book, Getting Everything You Can Out of All You’ve Got: 21 Ways You Can Out-Think, Out-Perform, and Out-Earn the Competition ahead of this one.
