Best Business Books For Women

If you are looking for a business book specifically written with the female reader in mind, I have a few suggestions.

I realise that, being a man, I’m not the most appropriate of people to be making these recommendations, but more by accident than design, I find that I have reviewed some books written for female business owners and managers rather than gender neutral readers.

The Best Business Books Specially Written For Women

You will only see the books I’ve rated at Four Stars (meaning good and well worth reading) and Five Stars (excellent and very highly recommended).

If you read my reviews, you’ll see I try to explain why I like them but also to identify any weaknesses. My job as a reviewer is to help you to find the most appropriate books rather than to help sell more books.

On that note, if you do decide to buy, I’d appreciate it if you could click through to Amazon on my links as (hopefully) I’ll earn a small referral commission.

Some of these books can be very expensive so, if you’re happy with a hard back or paperback book, take a look at the second hand options on Amazon. Personally I only buy if the condition is described as “As New” or “Very Good” unless I’m really keen and forced to drop down to “Good”.

These books will also make a lot of sense to male business owners

The Five Star Books

The Chic Entrepreneur: Put Your Business in Higher Heels by Elizabeth Gordon and Leanna Adams

A charming book that uses short stories to give power business lessons. This deserved to be much better known.

In my review posted to Amazon.co.uk, I gave the book Four Stars. This means it is Good and Well Worth Reading.

A female view on managing a business

The book starts with a charming story of how the author accidentally found herself in business.

After reading a few badly written books recently, it’s a pleasure to find one that is well organised and flows, making it easy to read. [continue reading…]

Mistakes coaches make in their marketing

I realise that, as a man, I’m not the target audience for the book but I was interested to know what it had to say

The short book is a transcription of a presentation at a live event and has been cleaned up to improve readability. The book also gives you a link to watch a video of the presentation.

While the book title refers to entrepreneurs, the book seems to be addressing coaches. There is no reason why the lessons shouldn’t apply to a wider audience. [continue reading…]

Business advice for women. An innovative system but it requires different thinking

As a man, I’m not the target market for this book which is very much focused on helping women succeed in business.

I’ve read and reviewed a similar book in the past “The Chic Entrepreneur” which I thought was really effective because it gave business lessons through stories.

This also has plenty to offer but it’s very much based around a business model, the 5 Principles of Predictable Profit. [continue reading…]

The Chic Entrepreneur by Elizabeth Gordon and Leanna Adams

Book Review Rating – 5 Stars

I don’t realise how much we live in a male dominated our society until someone (usually a woman) hits me over the head and makes me challenge my views of the accepted norm.

Elizabeth Gordon and Leanna Adams have done that with their excellent book “The Chic Entrepreneur“.

Who Are Elizabeth Gordon and Leanna Adams?

Elizabeth is American, a bit of a flirt, writes a lovely email and has the good sense to be engaged to an Englishman.

Elizabeth also has a passion for helping others to achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. She is the founder of Flourishing Business,  a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Wake Forest University in North Carolina and has a Masters in Marketing from Georgia State University. [continue reading…]
